    Class Format: This is a blended learning course including an online course and an instructor-led classroom skill session. The online portion must be completed prior to attending the in-class portion.

    Duration: Up to 35 min class session + 1 hr 5 min online

      Class Description:

      The American Heart Association Heartsaver First Aid, CPR/AED certification class teaches participants to provide first aid, CPR, and use an automated external defibrillator (AED) in a safe, timely, and effective manner.

      Reflects science and education from the American Heart Association Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC).

      • Conscious and Unconscious Choking
      • Basic First Aid including burns; cuts; head, neck and back injuries and more

      Class Format: Blended Learning

      Duration: Up to 1 hour in-class skills session + 4 hours online

        BLS Provider (CPR/AED for Healthcare) 

        Course Description - American Heart Association BLS Provider is an Instructor-led class and teaches both single-rescuer and team basic life support skills.

        Certification - 2 year American Heart Association BLS Provider e-card

        Manual - Participants may bring their own BLS Provider Manual or purchase an ebook online for $14. 

        Optional First Aid Certification - Heartsaver First Aid - $45 (2 year AHA certificate)
        Participants who add First Aid must complete the online Heartsaver First Aid course thru the AHA eLearning website for $15. The in-class First Aid skill session will be added at the end of the BLS class. 

         

         

        BLS Provider Renewal

        Reflects science and education from the 2020 American Heart Association Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC).

        Course Description - The American Heart Association BLS Renewal course is for AHA BLS Providers needing to renew their BLS certification. 

        Renewal Policy - Only those with a current (NOT EXPIRED) AHA BLS Provider certificate may participate in the renewal. Proof of a valid certification is required at class check-in. If your certificate has expired please enroll in the BLS Provider course instead.  

        Class Format - This course is Instructor-led classroom format. No online course required.

        Certification - 2 year American Heart Association BLS Provider e-card

        Manual - Participants may bring their own BLS Provider Manual (2020 edition) or purchase an ebook online for $14.

        Course Description - American Heart Association HeartCode BLS is a blended learning course that combines eLearning (online course) followed by a hands-on skill session with an instructor.

        • Part 1 - A self-paced series of online training modules (Up to 2 hours)
        • Part 2 - Skills practice session at our facility  (Up to 1 hour 10 minutes)

        Required Online Course - Prior to the in-class skills session, you MUST complete the online Heartcode BLS course thru the AHA eLearning website for $31 (payable to the AHA when you sign up for the online course).

          Class Description: Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED is geared towards anyone involved in childcare who have a duty to respond to illnesses and injuries in a child or infant in the first few minutes until professional help arrives. Including: childcare workers, teachers, camp counselors, etc.

          Class Format: Blended Learning

          Duration: Up to 1 hour in-class skills session + 4 hours online

          Certification: 2 year American Heart Association e-card

            Course Description: Bloodborne Pathogens is designed for those who are at risk for on the job exposure to blood and other bodily fluids in the workplace. The course teaches staff how bloodborne pathogens are spread, how to avoid exposure and what to do if exposed to infectious material.

            This course is one of the requirements of the OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Standard. After taking this course, students should talk with their employer about their workplaces specific policies and procedures.

            Description: Designed primarily for youth ages 11 and older, this online course will prepare students to be better babysitters. Topics include how to provide care for infants and children; how to stay safe; what to do in an emergency; how to choose age-appropriate activities; and how to recognize and handle a variety of behaviors. Students will also learn the basics of starting a babysitting business.

            The course consists of six interactive modules featuring video, activities, games and tools babysitters can use to build their knowledge and skills and manage their babysitting business.

            This course requires a PC or tablet with a high speed Internet connection. This course is not supported on smartphones. This course does not work with Internet Explorer.

            Duration: 4 hours online

            Course Description: The Lifeguard Management course is designed to prepare aquatic professionals to effectively manage lifeguards and help keep patrons, staff and facilities safe.

            This highly interactive, 3.5-hour course is completely online and includes video lessons, scenario-based activities and a final exam. There are no prerequisites for this course. The person may or may not have a lifeguarding background, and may manage seasonal or year-round operations.

              Heartsaver First Aid

              Description: The American Heart Association Heartsaver First Aid is a blended learning course (online portion, followed by hands-on skills session) and teaches critical skills to respond to and manage an emergency in the first few minutes until emergency medical services arrives. Students learn duties and responsibilities of first aid rescuers; first aid actions for medical emergencies, including severe choking, heart attack, and stroke; and skills for handling injury and environmental emergencies, including external bleeding, broken bones and sprains, and bites and stings.

              Duration: Up to 30 minute private in-class skills session + Up to 3 hours online course

              Certification: 2 year American Heart Association certificate

              Class Description: American Red Cross BLS certification is designed to train Healthcare Providers to respond to cardiac and breathing emergencies for adult, child, and infant victims with a focus on team-based response, BLS builds the key critical thinking, problem solving, and team dynamic skills that are needed to drive better patient outcomes.

              Class Format: Blended Learning

              Duration: Up to 30 min private class session + up to 2 hr online

              Certification: 2 year American Red Cross BLS certificate

              Online Course: This is a blended learning course including an online portion and an instructor-led classroom skill session. The online portion must be completed prior to attending the in-class portion.

              Optional First Aid Certificate:  2-year Red Cross First Aid certification may be added to the BLS class for $35. Participants who add First Aid must complete an online course before class to get certified. The online course link will be provided in your confirmation email. The in-class First Aid skills session takes about 10 minutes and will be at the end of the BLS class.  

               

              Class Description: This American Red Cross Water Safety Today teaches how to recognize, prevent and respond to emergencies in, on or around the water.

              Audience: Ideal class for foster care and adoptive parents, babysitters, family members, preschool and daycare staff and anyone interested in learning about water safety. This class meets the State of California’s water safety certification requirement for foster care and adoptive parents.

              Learning Objectives of Water Safety Today: This class teaches individuals how to recognize, prevent and respond to emergencies in, on or around the water.

              • Describe risks associated with an aquatic environment or activities, such as drowning or head, neck and spinal injuries.
              • Describe how to prevent, recognize and respond to emergencies in, on and around water.
              • Recognize the importance of water safety training.
              • Describe appropriate safety practices and rules that should be in place and enforced at home pools.
              • Explain steps to take to remain safe in aquatic environments, including oceans, lakes, rivers and waterparks.
              • Learn how to perform reaching, throwing or wading assists.
              • Describe steps for preventing overexposure to the sun.
              • Describe how to prevent recreational water illnesses (RWIs).

              Duration: Approx. 1 hr to 1.5 hrs Instructor-Led Zoom Session 

              Certification: American Red Cross Water Safety Today certificate

              Note: The Instructor-Led Zoom session is completed at home, the Zoom session cannot be completed at our office. You will need a computer, or smart phone with a Wifi connection and to Download Zoom for the Instructor-Led session.
